THURSDAY DECEMBER 18TH

CHUCK RAGAN W/ KANDLE & SETH ANDERSON

CHUCK RAGAN

Simply put, they don’t make musicians like Chuck Ragan anymore. For nearly two decades Ragan has traversed the country and the world—first with his celebrated punk act Hot Water Music and later as a solo troubadour—to bring his music to the masses. Correspondingly Ragan’s third solo album Covering Ground is as much of a love letter to his transient lifestyle as it as a concession to the loved ones he often has to leave behind and is also undeniably his most honest and accomplished album to date.

KANDLE

Kandle is the solo project of Victoria BC native Kandle Osborne, a songstress whose elegiac and moody brand of singing and songwriting reflect a maturity well beyond her years. Having grown up in a richly musical family, Kandle’s artistic nature became evident early on in her study of photography and her love of music. In her late teens she formed the group The Blue Violets with her sister Coral and friend Louise Burns. It was then that she fell in love with songwriting and slowly conquered stage fright, playing guitar in the shadows before being able to focus on her own solo material.

SETH ANDERSON

The Renegade Kid will make you want to ditch that salary and fancy sports car, and live the life you’ve dreamed of since you were old enough to defy your parents. What he creates is, Straight –shooting, it’s liberating, it’s a hang on type of sound. The love child of a three way between Social Distortion, Wilco and Neil Young comes to mind when you hear him play.
